South Africa's large immigrant population is routinely and illegally denied health care by clinics and hospitals, leaving them at mortal risk, Human Rights Watch said.
"Migrants to South Africa are abused in transit, attacked upon arrival, and then denied care when they are injured or ill," said Rebecca Shaeffer, a health campaigner for the group.
"There is no healing here in South Africa. Since I arrived here there is no rest, no recovery."
